Inauguration of the monumental work dedicated to Captain Emanuele Basile, Officer of the Carabinieri, Gold Medal for Civilian Valour, thanks to the assignment of General Giovanni Cataldo, I realized for the anniversary of his cruel murder, located at the Monreale Carabinieri Group Command and on the site of the cowardly assassination. "I consider it a tribute to the sacrifice of a soldier who fearlessly fought against organized crime. Thanks to the sacrifice of men like Captain Basile that today the city of Monreale freely lives its spaces without the predominance of crime. Captain Basile, whose memory we are all bond, continues to be an example of honesty, legality and fairness. The green Lampedusa, which I painted my work, wants to represent the hope that the sacrifice of the men of the state was not in vain. The work at dusk, on a warm background, red and yellow at the end of the day, also wants to represent a message of hope for the new generations."
